Sometimes, All a Person Needs is Love!
These types of moments are among my favourite when shooting on the streets. People, just being themselves and showing their emotions. Happiness, sadness, joy, love, anger; street photography/portraiture can be very raw and pure. Emotion can be sudden and unexpected. Along this journey I’ve encountered so many individuals who have demonstrated every emotion imaginable. As much as I’m documenting faces, I feel I’m educating myself on humanity. It’s a fascinating journey.
Happy Friday everyone!
These are wonderful portraits Mike. Nothing is better than capturing real and true emotion, raw and unscripted. You have me inspired!
Thank you Nicole! I really love these moments and they’re one of the main reasons I keep doing this project. It’s a pleasure to meet people who aren’t afraid to let their emotions free.
The 5th image is my favorite, but all express emotion and are wonderful examples of street photography and capturing every day simple moments in time. Have a great weekend! Robyn
Thanks Robyn! That image was really quite candid. These two guys were sharing some personal stories and suddenly embraced – it was unexpected and I simply pointed and clicked, not really sure what the result would be.
I want to bump into your camera on a street – your portraits are so flattering and the emotion just jumps out!
Thank you! That would be a pretty brilliant encounter.
I’ve been taking photos for some of my coworkers these days and I often say “let’s go outside and do the photo, so I can take the shot as if I met you in the street!” :)
Beautiful!!!
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Haha awesome set. That first one is perfect!
Thank you, Rob! Yeah, they were a pretty happy couple; definitely feeling the love with those two!
This is a great theme. You did a great job of capturing the emotion between the people.
Thank you Jessica! Have a fantastic weekend!
Raw and very moving! I’m sure this series couldn’t leave anyone indifferent…
Hope you are planning an exhibition :)
Thank you!! Showing my work in some local galleries is definitely on the horizon.
