Winnipeg Street: Sylvia
Approximately one week ago, I met Larry on the street and he allowed me to take his photo. Today I bumped into him again; this time he was with his friend Sylvia. He noticed me as I approached but didn’t expect me to take the second photo below. Kind of candid which I liked. I asked Sylvia, who is blind, if I could take a photo and she agreed. She has been blind for over 20 years, and has lived in Winnipeg since she was 15 years old. She’ll be 52 soon. Larry and her were out for a walk and it was nice to see him again and have another conversation.
Great shots Mike. The skin tones and colors are so accurate with the Leica. Have a great day :D
Thank you Joe! I agree and think I’ll try shooting more in colour :)
Truest beauty and love in their smiles! How brilliantly you nurture that with your craft, Mike! I love that it feels like we get to meet these interesting people through your words and images. At first I was sad to think Sylvia would never see these photos. But then I realized from the second photo that she felt the joy of having it taken! Much to be said for that ;)
Peace, always ~ Allison
Thank you always, Allison! :) She was a really positive person although I know her life hasn’t always been easy with many hardships. She has a wonderful energy that made me feel good after this encounter.
Lovely portraits. I agree with Joe and Allison.
Thank you! Always appreciated :)
Love your stories (even if your photos tell stories by themselves…) xox
