Saturday Street Photography
It was a great day for some street photography / portraiture. I mixed it up a bit with some candid and permission asked photos – something that tends to keep things interesting for me. Also, thanks to everyone who commented and / or visited the new website! I appreciate that. In the future, when I post something new on there, I’ll just make a note of it here with a link to that particular page.
Cheers, and have a great evening!
Lovely portraits as always. I wish I could go on the streets more often than now. If I have to pick I would pick 1,3,4.
Thank you! If I get out even once / week I’m happy. These days it’s been quite busy with many other tasks, so it’s really nice when I do get the chance :)
Certainly was a great day for street portraits .
Winnipeg seems to come alive after a long winter! It’s as if we’ve all been hibernating!
this purple hat is amazing
It was indeed! I noticed him from all the way down the street!
Great set of images Mike. Looks like a fulfilling day out?
Love the two guys sat down and the guy in the purple hat!
Nice job
Thank you, Bob! It was a good day. I also had another interesting encounter with a gentleman that I’ll post later. Fascinating, and somewhat frightening story. Those two guys were funny. As I crouched down and took the shot, the older man said quite sternly “are you a cop!?”. “Nope, just a street photographer!”.
Look forward to that Mike, and thanks again my friend
Bob
The gentleman in the velveteen hat lives in Winnipeg? You are rapidly changing my opinion of our northern neighbor!
Actually, he was from Nova Scotia, I found out after I took the shot. Well, Winnipeg seems to attract a lot of awesome characters :)
Nova Scotia I know … mostly because it’s within our “news range,” and they seem to have a propensity of dramatic happenings: supermarket shootings, mysterious fires and, of course, the famed arms ship in poor Halifax. Actually, it usually looks pretty. Newfoundland looks cold.
I love the first shot
Thank you Nelson!
Some great street photography!
Much appreciated, Angeline!
It was fun bumping into you on the street. We’ll have to connect again. Do a dude by side my x100s vs Leica
Hey, Ian! Thanks for stopping by! For sure, just give me a shout and we can definitely hit the streets! I’m really considering picking up an x100s for my backup. Might go check them out later this week.
Always a wonderful experience when viewing your work.
Thank you always, Nicole! Your support of my work is really encouraging.
great images as always Mike! I love the picture with the guy in the purple hat! makes me want to know more about him, great shot!
Aaahhh love visiting you and your site, Mike :) The first shot made me smile wide! They are all great – I never saw a chin tattoo before (very unique and cool!) – and I love the electric dash of purple on the woman walking in the last photo.
Thank you for sharing and letting us take a stroll with you! :) Wishing you peace and good vibes, friend – Allison
Thank heavens for the skull & crossbone action on the fuzzy pink & purple hat dude – gives him immense street fred. :)
Actually that is my favorite picture in the bunch – must be the fashion focus that drew me in.
I like this set of street portraits! Great work, Mike!
I love the portrait of the guy in purple hat. :)
Now THAT brotha is Big Pimpin!!! haha. You know who ;).
Nice work, man. Who else is doing street in Winnipeg?
