Condolences
By now, many of folks around the world have heard about or read the very sad and unfortunate news regarding Malaysia Airlines flight MH17. The circumstances surrounding this tragedy are equally devastating. As someone who regularly flies and finds the experience both necessary and amazing, I was shocked by this senseless crime against nearly 300 innocent travelers. People simply going on vacation, returning home to see family or about to embark on new work or life adventure. It is my hope that the perpetrators involved will be brought to justice and that this will become a wake up call for those in the region.
My condolences to those affected by this tragedy.
Thanks Mike for posting this. My thoughts and feelings precisely.
Cheers, Doug. A senseless tragedy. I could rant on.
Well said Mike. This is being managed atrociously. Like you I cannot begin to understand how the relatives are coping?
Regards
Bob
It is almost beyond words, how this crime scene is being managed. Thankfully there are some media and freelance journalists out there recording things and at least documenting what is (and most certainly isn’t) being done.
It is a sad state of affairs Mike. I hope that you are well my friend?
Bob
Beyond tragic, MIke. For what purpose? Humanity is not a game. I feel similarly about the overt offensive escalating in the Middle East. Why? For me, these events heighten my personal sense of purpose and it is the antithesis of what the media chooses to sensationalize and focus on, disproportionately. There is still a lot of good in our world. Sadly, many opt to focus on ‘what’s wrong.’ Thanks for creating time to remind and subtlly, call to action in constructive ways. That may not have been your intention but it’s my takeaway.
Thank you for commenting, Eric. Watching video of people nonchalantly wandering about the scene, careless to the fact that human remains are likely underfoot, jumping on aircraft wreckage, tossing passengers’ personal belongings into piles, I get such an uneasy feeling. I hadn’t planned on posting this today, as I’ve not even been on the blog for quite some time, however, I felt it was appropriate.
It’s really scary…I feel so sorry for all those parents who lost their children and all families who lost their loved ones…it’s so sad…I’m wondering who will bear consequences…
Most importantly, the victims must be treated respectfully. Consequences aside, at least give those who lost their lives the dignity they deserve. Thank you for commenting, Mojca.
Absolutely!! You are right, Mike!!
It all adds up to the unfortunate feeling that the world isn´t becoming a better place…
It certainly feels that way sometimes. Appreciate your comment.
this makes me sad all over again.
although i’m not personally affected by it, thank you :)
It is such a sad situation; made tougher by the fact that investigators are still being held back from entering the site. It pains me to think that there are still passengers out there in that field…
