Winnipeg Ink: Will
I met Will as he was waiting for his bus. I took one look at his awesome tattoos and wanted a photo feeling black and white was fitting for this portrait. He was really easy going and kindly allowed me to take a photo. We shook hands and parted ways. Thanks Will!
I like both shots, Mike, though at first glance I actually thought the image was an avatar. He could be! I was unaware you had a Tattooed People Project. Would enjoy seeing more, time and space permitting.
Note: I saved this comment as it was intended for your yesterday post — which strangely, vaporized as I attempted to post the comment. I still like yesterday’s shots versus these. These seem a tad more tame.
Thank you Eric for the kind words! I’m not sure what happened; I noticed my page was acting wonky there for a moment. Seems to be fine now. I started the tattoo project a couple years ago in Thailand but abandoned it for some time. Going to try giving it another go :)
Great portrait. I’m thinking I might try a strangers project. Take advantage of my lunch break at work and just try and grab an image a day and get me shooting on a daily basis :)
Thank you so much, Adrean! Absolutely you should give it a go! It’s really quite fun and the people you’ll meet will undoubtedly have a great variety of stories to tell :)
I’d like to, but thinking on it more, i think my lunch break will feel too rushed (and I really need a break from my day job during lunch too!) Maybe sometime, I’ll get a chance on a weekend and the courage and try and do some off the cuff. Who knows :)
Superb. The expression on his face is fantastic
Much appreciated, Rajiv! He was a bit unsure I think, but in the end gave me a great expression and (I feel) a nice portrait!
I love it! He looks kinda proud and happy, but also a little inaccessible…great portrait!!
Thank you Mojca! Your comments are always enlightening and thoughtful! I think you’re spot on with that assessment.
