Winnipeg Ink: John
A couple photos of a really great guy I met on the street yesterday evening. I noticed him getting out of a car and immediately called out and said “I have to take your photo!” to which he replied with enthusiastic agreement. Super outgoing and friendly demeanour. I told him about my Tattooed People project and he thought it was cool. Unfortunately, I forgot to give him one of my cards as I’d like to shoot him again or some of his buddies. As for his name, I’m pretty certain it was John!

These are really great! I love his expression :)
Thanks! :) He was a pretty cool guy.
You meet the most interesting characters, Mike! Great portraits. You have captured his personality and made the view feel as though we were right there meeting him with you.
Thank you Robyn! There’s a lot of awesome folks living here; no shortage of photo subjects :)
You are really good at capturing expressions, Mike.
I know I’ve “said” it before, but there’s always something very sincere and honest in your portraits…
I love the genuine feeling in your meetings. Excellent portrait, as usual!
Thank you Malin! I just wish I could have had more time to talk to him / get some additional photos!!
Great shot Mike but OUCH those tattoos on his head must have hurt :) Have a great weekend.
haha…yes, they can certainly hurt. Thank you Joe, have a wonderful weekend as well :)
Well done, Mike! I dig the tattoo project ;) This gentleman is no joke – he looks fierce. As usual, you capture with grace and precision the inside and the outside of a man.
And hey, you changed your own photo – love it!
Rock the weekend, dear one.
Allison
His no nonsense expression is fantastic – he took the shot seriously and I’m thankful for that. A lot of people don’t know how to react when presented with some guy taking their portrait. He seemed to have it all figured out!
I thought the new photo was more appropriate for a photography blog; thanks for noticing! :)
The weekend is starting off nicely – and it’s a long one, too, with Monday being a holiday. Have a good one! Keep the creativity flowing!
What a character! These are brilliant Mike. Well done buddy
Thank you Bob! He was one of the more interesting people I’ve meet on the streets so far! Enjoy your weekend :)
Great!! I wish you could talk to him more! I’m sure he has some stories to tell…I love his expression!!
Me too! I was annoyed because I forgot to give him a business card. He’s the type of person I’d love to photograph again; and I’m sure he has some buddies with great tattoos as well.
Wow what an interesting character! I’m sure you’ll meet him again if its meant to be ;) xox
Looks like he also does scarification.
